Montserrat — an island in the Caribbean Sea, a British Overseas Territory, official language — English, currency — East Caribbean dollar (XCD).

Since 1 September 2011 it has been governed under the Montserrat Constitution Order 2010, under which a unicameral Legislative Assembly holds legislative power, executive power is exercised by a Cabinet of Ministers headed by a Premier, a Governor appointed by the British Crown represents the state, and defense and foreign affairs remain the responsibility of the UK government.
